Exercising Your Rights, National Insurance, and the Rehabilitation Basket

It all begins with a personal conversation

People coping with OCD and related conditions are often eligible for benefits and assistance from government institutions. The process of exercising these rights may seem complex, but receiving recognition can provide meaningful resources that support treatment and rehabilitation.

How Does the Process Work?

Step One – Applying to the National Insurance Institute

The first step toward receiving recognition and determining the degree of medical or functional disability is handled by the National Insurance Institute. The claim must be submitted independently.

Submit a General Disability Pension Claim on the National Insurance Institute Website

Step Two – Applying for a Rehabilitation Basket

After receiving recognition from the National Insurance Institute with a mental health disability rating of 40% or higher, an application may be submitted for a Rehabilitation Basket provided by the Ministry of Health.

What Is a Rehabilitation Basket and Why Is It Important?

A Rehabilitation Basket provides a broad and varied support system, including assistance with supported housing, mentoring and guidance, employment support, social clubs, educational support, and more.

This assistance provides daily support beyond therapy sessions at the clinic and can significantly promote the rehabilitation process and the return to a better quality of life.

How Do You Apply for a Rehabilitation Basket?

A qualified professional is required to assist with the application. You can contact a social worker through your health fund, who can submit the application on your behalf at no cost.

Facing Long Waiting Times? We Are Here for You

If there is a long waiting period for an appointment with a social worker through your health fund, the clinic offers prompt and focused assistance for a fee.

The guidance and submission of the Rehabilitation Basket application are provided personally by Aviad Mazugi, a clinical social worker from the OCD CLINIC team, with the aim of streamlining the process and preventing unnecessary delays in receiving the support available to you.
